Report Piracy

Piracy is killing the karaoke industry by destroying the ability of companies like Sound Choice to produce new music and provide promotional support that helps your shows. Pirates are also creating unfair competition for legitimate hosts by undercutting them and making it difficult for them to afford new music and maintain their business. You can do your part to stop karaoke piracy by speaking up. Help us help you!

To report piracy regarding Sound Choice materials, you can:
  • send an e-mail to piracy@scsafeharbor.com (Best method), or
  • call the Sound Choice Enforcement Hotline at 888-854-2792 and select option 1.
Please give us as much information as you can give us, including show location, times and days of operation, and host name or business name. Please include a way for us to contact you for further details. When we do follow-up investigations, we will respect your privacy.

Please note that we are primarily interested in knowing about the following:

  • Karaoke hosts who run multiple simultaneous shows with illegal equipment.
  • New Karaoke hosts who offer over 30,000 song tracks from a hard drive system since they are not likely to have enough CDGs to be legal.
  • Vendors who are selling pre-loaded hard drives or CAVS systems. No Karaoke Producer has authorized the sale of their content on preloaded systems.
  • People who maintain tracks on private download sites. At this moment, there are no sites in the world that are authorized to offer Sound Choice branded content for downloads or streaming, therefore ALL sites offering Sound Choice downloads are unauthorized.
However, we will accept any information you can provide us regarding suspected pirates. Over 90% of all karaoke hosts who have been in business less than 3 years and who run karaoke from a hard drive have some, if not all, pirated content.

If you have piracy-related information of a more general nature, please contact the Karaoke Industry Alliance of America (KIAA).
